Bungie has announced that it’s changing how Destiny 2 handles experience points. The move comes in response to players who have been raising questions about it over recent days, with a growing consensus that the system was rigged. […]
Last weekend, Destiny 2 had its first “Clarion Call” event, which gave bonus XP to players when they were joined by at least one of their clanmates. In the wake of that event, some players noticed that the longer they played, the slower they’d progress, despite the fact that they were repeating the same activities. The first time a player would earn 5,000 XP, they’d see a large chunk of their XP bar fill. The second or third (or fifteenth) time they earned the same number of XP, the bar would get a much smaller chunk.
damn man, just keeps getting better and better… i played the shit outta Destiny 2 when it came out, but after a month or so it just started to feel like there was less and less to do… less reason to hop online, other than maybe firing it up once a week to do some of the objectives after the weekly reset every tuesday — and that’s only to help level up a character… if you’ve already got your Titan/Warlock/Hunter all leveled up as far as they’ll go, then there’s no reason to even do that.
hell, i’m not even sure if the upcoming DLC is worth it.
PS. i probably would’ve picked-up Battlefront II if i saw it on sale for $30, but no such luck… damnit.
The final stretch is still ahead; after Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend comes Cyber Monday, a time of massive online-only deals. Tech giant Amazon may have gotten into brick-and-mortar stores with its acquisition of Whole Foods in August, but it’s still keeping its online presence strong. Amazon is also running its Smile program for these deals, so you can use smile.amazon.com to donate 0.5 percent of your purchases to a chosen charity, a small but still helpful amount that might make the spending craze feel less awful.
Here are the best Cyber Monday tech deals that we’ve picked out so that you don’t have to scroll through pages of hairbands, pet food, and old films to get to them. And Black Friday deals listed here for Amazon devices and the Oculus Rift headset are continuing until midnight PST on November 27th, so they can be considered part of the Cyber Monday madness too.
well, here we are once again on the monday after black friday…. where you can find all these crazy awesome deals — right?
personally, i didn’t get shit this year on black friday and pretty much ignored it… i only got one thing and that was because i got an email from amazon and just happened to see it before deleting (the email storm was strong this year, geeeesh) and it was a deal they had going where you could pick three 4K UHD Blurays for $50… thought that was a pretty damn good deal, so i picked up ‘Star Trek Beyond’, ‘Man of Steel’, and ‘John Wick 2’ on 4K.
anybody get anything crazy good this year?
well, being that it’s the day before thanksgiving and without looking, y’know that traffic out there is probably all f’d up, i’m glad to be working from home today… still, have some running around to do and think most peeps are heading out early today (if not already off), so think i’ll hang it up for the day… but not before dropping some random booty ;)
happy pre-turkey hump day!

Last week, Belgium’s Gaming Commission announced that it had launched an investigation into whether the loot boxes available for purchase in games like Overwatch and Star Wars Battlefront 2 constitute a form of gambling. Today, VTM News reported that the ruling is in, and the answer is yes.
daaaaaamn… yeah, things are definitely heating up and getting a bit more interesting… hmmmm…
since i’m in the office today and still kinda suffering from a post-lunch food coma here… think i’ll step outside and maybe walk over to starbucks for an espresso doubleshot… totally feel like i need it right now… g’damn.
some tata’s worth saving ;)
almost can’t believe it, but i kinda forgot all about the fact that another victoria’s secret show would be coming along here shortly… doh!
to be honest, i don’t really get overly excited about it since it usually seems like the same models every year… on the flipside, it’s always fun to to see beautifoo women walk around in panties and lingerie — something i doubt will ever get old ;)
i just pulled up youtube and the first thing i see is this…
dude, how fucking awesome?!!
i know it’s just a teaser, but it’s the first one i’ve seen for the new Incredibles and i feel like i’ve literally been waiting for years to see it… coming out summer of 2018 i believe, and i’ll definitely be going to see it — hopefully in an IMAX theater.
there was soooooo much drama over Battlefront 2 last week, especially on reddit… but really, it seemed like it was everywhere… hell, i read that even CNN was reporting on it, which i’m sure probably gave a few EA execs a helluva headache — and rightfully so from all that i’ve read… when i heard that it would take something crazy like 4,500 hours to unlock all the characters, or around $2,100 with in-game loot box purchases… i was shocked.
never heard of something so crazy, and so blatantly greedy before… and i love star wars, and have been looking forward to this game for months and months now… but after all this shit, i just couldn’t bring myself to buy the game.
which is a real shame.
hopefully EA changes things up, and super quickly… and not only that, but i really hope they learned an important lesson here and don’t forget it… still blows my mind — it’s pretty damn hard to fuck up a star wars game, but they sure as hell managed to do it… and the backlash has been fierce.
PS. if i see the game on sale for $20 somewhere down the line i might pick it up, just to play the campaign.
well gang, it’s about that time again… wrap things up and go grab a beer, then maybe fire up some of this new punisher on netflix later tonight — i’m just hoping it’s not as much of a letdown as the last couple marvel shows have been… well, mostly thinking of the iron fist here, tbh…. anywho, which do you think is sexier?
Top or Bottom?
have a great weekend, mang!
** don’t be a dbag, make a choice.
another one i kinda forgot all about, though to be honest, i think that’s understandable… mostly because i just haven’t been excited or looking forward to this ‘Justice Leauge’ movie at all… and by that, i mean like zero interest.
just out of curiosity, anybody planning on hitting the theater this weekend to go see it?
oh man, oh man… was thinking of binge watching season two of ‘stranger things’ with my friend tomorrow, but i kinda forgot that the new punisher was being released today on netflix.
well, i know what i’ll be doing later tonight :)
The world equates American military power with the maintenance of the postwar global order of free commerce, communications, and travel.
Sometimes American power leads to costly, indecisive interventions like those in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya that were not able to translate superiority on the battlefield into lasting peace.
But amid the frustrations of American foreign policy, it is forgotten that the United States also plays a critical but more silent role in ensuring the survival of small, at-risk nations. The majority of them are democratic and pro-Western. But they all share the misfortune of living in dangerous neighborhoods full of bullies. Continue…
another good read from victor, as usual… goes down pretty good with this coffee and bagel ‘n cream cheese…. emmmm, good stuff…
i figured i’d just have to be patient and wait for another couple weeks for mine to ship out and arrive, since it gave me a target date of Dec 4-18th when i preordered… but was happily surprised to get an email late last week… and bam! here it is :)
i’ve only had it since yesterday, so still getting used to it… and i really mean that, since this is the first time in years that “getting used to it” means just that — the muscle memory for hitting the “home” button is real, mang… holy shit… yeah, gonna take me a bit to get used to all this swiping.
surprisingly, that top tab isn’t bothering me as much as i thought it would… and i don’t care what they say, it’s definitely smaller than my 7 Plus — not sure how i feel about that, to be honest.
anywho, i’m digging it.
now to get my animoji on..! ;)
oh man, just in case you missed this yesterday…
fuck me, can’t wait for Deadpool 2!!!!!!
“…and remember, hugs not drugs.”
i finally got a friend of mine to start watching ‘Stranger Things’ on netflix, and now for the last couple days she’s been texting me after each episode to recap and chat about it…
…which is awesome, since i kept telling her what a great show it was and that i thought she’d love it.
might have to go over and binge watch season 2 (again) with her this weekend… hmmmm… will have to see, but i really wouldn’t mind watching it again.
man, it’s just been one of those days… don’t even really feel like going into details or anything, but needless to say i’m to take a long break and get a breather… whew… at least it’s humpday, right? ;)
happy hump day!
time for that mid-afternoon break, and if it’s as warm as it looks outside (yeah right) …then maybe enjoy some random scenery on a leisurely walk for that espresso i’ve been looking forward to the past couple hours.
save the tata’s ;)
i dunno about you guys, but i’ve been missing summer quite a bit of late… probably because it’s been unseasonably cold this past week or two… hell man, it got down into the 20s the other night and i was freezing my nuts off.
supposed to warm up a little bit, but not much… ugh, oh well… ’tis the season for all the cute women to be hiding under sweaters and jackets once again i guess. damnit.
PS. really not looking forward to doing yard work this weekend… omg, you have no idea…
If you have a burning hatred of the so-called “notch” on your new iPhone X then boy do I have good news for you. Apple just approved an app called Notch Remover despite its urging of developers to embrace the notch by not masking it:
Don’t mask or call special attention to key display features. Don’t attempt to hide the device’s rounded corners, sensor housing, or indicator for accessing the Home screen by placing black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
The app doesn’t remove the notch per se, it just makes the notch invisible by placing a black bar across the tops of images that you must then assign to your Wallpapers in the iOS settings. Nevertheless, the end result looks like a traditional unibrow status bar, instead of the two brows currently found at the top of the iPhone X’s home and lock screens.
In practice, the notch isn’t a problem in day-to-day usage, especially for people eager to justify their $1,000-plus purchases. So what’s another $0.99 for a silly little app that fixes a silly little problem?
personally, i think it looks better with this Notch Remover app, but that’s just me… might be worth a buck to try it out when i get my new iPhone X.
