Chiefs Safety Husain Abdullah Flagged For Muslim-Prayer TD Celebration

Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct Monday night when he went to his knees in prayer to celebrate a Tom Brady pick-six.

Abdullah—a devout Muslim who sat out the 2012-13 season to make Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca—shouldn’t have been penalized.

If there is any doubt as to what Abdullah was doing, here’s his brother and former NFL safety Hamza Abdullah on Twitter.

man, i must’ve missed that, probably cuz the game was quickly looking to be a blowout and i was zoning in and out… watched Gotham, then some of the game, then switched to The Blacklist — checking back on the game during the commercials.

damn, the patriots were looking pretty bad last night… not a fan of the chiefs, and was really hoping the patriots would roll in there and pull out a bit of a miracle… oh well.

F*ck Ello.

i don’t know about you guys, but i’m getting pretty tired of seeing my twitter feed constantly being blown up with news, links, screenshots etc etc about ello.

anybody got an invite? just kidding. lol

speaking of drones over hong kong reminded me of john oliver’s rant on drones the other night on HBO.

I Finally Got My iPhone 6 Last Night

i got a call yesterday afternoon from the local AT&T store i pre-ordered the iPhone 6 from a couple weeks back, saying that it was in and i could pick it up… oh hell yeah! i was happily surprised, since they initially told me it’d be like mid-october before they got it in — so i stopped by on my way home lastnight and got my new iPhone 6.

of course, nothing ever seems to go super smoothly for me of late, so why would it be any different at the AT&T store? i got there, expecting to simply walk in and be in-out in 20 minutes or so… shiiiit, what the hell was i thinking… got there around 7:30pm and didn’t leave until 9:20pm — had to wait around in the effin lobby for an hour while they took care of all these other people… ugh… terrible.

but it was worth it in the end.

initial impressions
feels like everybody’s already gotten one, and there’s been a shitload of articles/blog posts/videos about it… but for me, i was just looking forward to the bump in the screen size — and right away, i was loving it… the screen looks great to me, it’s fast and snappy, and it’s a small thing… but i love having the power button on the top-right side now, instead of up at the top.

i’m actually really liking the soft rounded edges to it, too.

Foo.Refresh(ing)

i started playing around with a couple theme ideas the other week, and here’s one that i was diggin’ on… feels like everythings been getting bigger and bigger over the past year or two, so i figure why not do the opposite? instead of blowing it out and uploading images that are at least 900/1024 pixels wide, i’m going back to a much more narrow viewport — more of a “mobile only” blog design.

the only downside is that i lost the comments on the side… i started to mess around with an alternate way of showing/sliding in the comments on the main page, but ran into a bit of snag late lastnight… so i’ll keep it on the back-burner for now — to be honest, i don’t get the amount of comments that i used to at times, with the majority of blog posts getting maybe 1 or 2 comments, or none at all… so with that being the case, i figure it’s okay to click the “comment” link to leave a comment.

i might try giving it another try later this week, but we’ll see.

anywho, this blog has always been a playground.

Breaking Bad, One Year Later…

just saw a tweet that the final episode of “Breaking Bad” aired one year ago today.

hard to believe it’s already been a year, y’know?!?!

holy hell, mang.

More Emily, Please

speaking of “leaks”, i sure wouldn’t mind seeing more of emily ratajkowski in all her gorgeously naked beauty.

seriously, she’s so fucking hot.

More Jennifer Lawrence Nudes Leaked?

Another round of Jennifer Lawrence nude images are leaked

Jennifer Lawrence has been targeted yet again in the latest online nude photo leak, with 55 more naked images of the actor hitting the Internet.

In what is being labelled as “The Fappening 3″ by the Reddit and 4chan communities, Lawrence is among a group of celebrities, including supermodel Cara Delevingne and fellow actor Anna Kendrick, who have had private photos leaked.

While Delevingne and Lawrence are naked in the pictures, Kendrick is clothed in all of her 87 leaked pictures. However, there are several images that show the actor partying away in some pretty revealing outfits.

Other identities hit by the leak include American Olympic gold medalist Misty May Treanor and actors Alexandra Chando, Kelli Garner and Lauren O’Neil.

i have no problem with seeing some nude photos of hot celebrity babes, especially onces like jennifer lawrence — but this is getting kind of ridiculous… and really starting to almost seem like it’s intentional… well, maybe that’s the wrong word for it, but you know what i mean.

Babe vs. Babe

well gang, it’s definitely about that time… by which i mean it’s late friday afternoon, it’s nice and sunny outside, traffic is already stacking up, and the weekend is calling my name loud and clear… so with that in mind, here’s another quickie before i jet — left or right?

** don’t be douchebag, make a choice.

edit: top (left) or bottom (right) with new theme.

have a great day weekend, mang!

Oklahoma Beheading

Suspect in Oklahoma beheading tried converting co-workers to Islam

A disgruntled, fired factory worker — who had tried to convert his colleagues to Islam — used a 10-inch work knife to stab and behead a female employee, law enforcement sources told The Post on Friday.

The FBI is investigating Thursday’s brutal murder at Vaughan Foods in the Oklahoma town of Moore due to the nature of the attack, which comes on the heels of recently released ISIS beheading videos.

Alton Nolen, 30, had been fired from the food distribution company early Thursday and drove back to the plant around 4 p.m., according to sources.

He barged in and attacked the first person he saw — 54-year-old Colleen Hufford — stabbing her in the back and cutting her head off with a knife he had used while working at the plant.

whoa, holy shit..! i was just flip’n through my twitter feed on my phone and saw this headline about a woman being beheaded by some black muslim dude — in oklahoma.

seriously, what the fuck is going on?!?

Random Sexiness

i usually try to post one of these at least once a week, but damned if it doesn’t always feel like it’s been much longer since the last one… dunno why, but it usually just feels that way — anywho, here’s a few random pics that grabbed my attention at one point or another during the week.

Angry Birds Transformers

oh man, i had no idea there was yet another angry birds game coming out, and next month at that! of course, i feel like i’ve had my fill of angry birds and it’s starting to feel a little 2012 to me — but i might have to give this one a shot.

says it’s coming to “google play” on october 15th at the end of the video, but i’m hoping that it makes it’s way to the Xbox One/PS4… playing it while on the go is always fun, but it’d also be nice to sit down on the couch and fire it up for a bit as well.

been too damn busy this past week and haven’t played anything, so i’m hoping to put in a few hours into leveling my warlock up in Destiny this weekend… jayden’s already up to level 26, and kicking some serious ass in multiplayer.

Apple’s Bendgate

Apple Reveals Its Secret Testing Lab, Shows iPhone 6 Under Intense Bend Tests

i was a little surprised to hear that Apple says it’s only received 9-10 complains from users with bent iphones… especially after all the articles and posts about it this past week — man, the internet sure has been having a lot of fun with it. heh.

i’m still looking forward to getting my new iphone, whenever they get them in again.

Dropping Gas Prices

Gas prices headed below $3 a gallon…

The price of a gallon of gasoline may soon start with a “2” across much the country.

Gasoline prices typically decline in autumn, and this year they are being pulled even lower by falling global oil prices. By the end of the year, up to 30 states could have an average gasoline price of less than $3 a gallon.

The average in Springfield, Missouri, is already below $3, according to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service and GasBuddy.com. Several other cities are on the brink.

“And there will be more, many more,” Kloza said. Cities in high-priced states such as California and New York will not be among them, though, which will probably keep the national average above $3.

awesome news! i think i saw “$2.99″ being listed at one of the local gas stations the other day while driving around… but now that i’m thinking about it, hell if i can remember which one or where i was exactly… damnit, i’ll have to pay more attention.

Eric Holder Resigns

Attorney General Eric Holder announces resignation

Washington (CNN) — Attorney General Eric Holder announced Thursday that he will resign after six years at the helm of the Justice Department.

Holder has agreed to remain in his post until the confirmation of his successor.

“In the months ahead I will leave the Department of Justice,” Holder said at the White House, thanking President Barack Obama for the “greatest honor of my professional life.”

Though he’s stepping down, Holder said that “he will never leave the work.”

“I will continue to serve and try to find ways to make our nation even more true to its founding ideals,” he said, without offering any specifics.

Obama stood next to Holder in the White House State Dining Room, praising the first African-American to serve as attorney general and who made civil rights and equal rights central components to his tenure at Justice.

The President noted that his department prosecuted hundreds of terror cases, “rooted out corruption and fought violent crime,” tackled financial fraud and “attacks on the Voting Rights Act.” Obama said Holder also helped to bring down the crime rate and incarceration rate by 10% over the last six years.

“Eric has done a superb job,” Obama said. “I just want to say thank you.”

good riddance i say, though to be honest i’m sure Obama already has another “progressive” left-wing radical in mind to take up the reigns of the DOJ… and i’m sure he’ll probably try like hell to deflect all attention to getting the new guy/woman passed through the senate right before the mid-term elections in a couple months — like something right out of playbook, mang.

for a quick reference to all the crap that’s happened under eric holder’s watch, here’s a pretty good one — Sixteen Scandals: The Legacy of Eric Holder

p.s. i still can’t believe he purged “radical islam” from all materials.

Should We Hope to Die at 75?

another friday morning, another op/ed from victor hanson on the way… so let’s see what he has to say this week — Should We Hope to Die at 75?

Normally, no one would care that in a recent Atlantic essay — “Why I Hope to Die at 75” — 57-year-old Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel argued that living to be 75 years old was long enough for anyone. After 75, Emanuel suggests, “We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.”

But Emanuel is no garden-variety crackpot. Nor is he a wannabe science-fiction writer dreaming of a centrally planned planet of robust youthful humanoids. Unfortunately, he was one of the chief architects of the troubled Affordable Care Act and a key medical advisor to the Obama administration.

The ACA’s conservative critics have long knocked Obamacare as a first step toward medical rationing. Read Emanuel’s diatribe against living too long, and suddenly Sarah Palin’s attack on Obamacare’s “death panels” does not seem so far-fetched.

Emanuel’s main point is that those who live beyond 75 inordinately gobble up collective health resources — like flu shots. Emanuel asserts that at age 75 and beyond, he will decline nearly all medical tests and treatments. (“What about simple stuff? Flu shots are out.”) He claims he won’t take antibiotics either.

“I think this manic desperation to endlessly extend life is misguided and potentially destructive,” Emanuel writes. “For many reasons, 75 is a pretty good age to aim to stop.”

Emanuel takes the banal position that aging is more costly than youth, and then he takes it to a pathetic extreme, revealing his ignorance of both history and ethics. And while he is mostly talking about his own plans, his past influence and his present desire to disseminate his views make it clear that he would like Americans to follow his advice that it would be wise for them to be dead at 75.

it’s worth noting that Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel is attributed as being one of the driving architects behind Obamacare, and is the brother of obama’s former chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel (now mayor of mexico chicago).

good read as always, though i definitely need more coffee.

Wife Material

it’s been grey and rainy here for the past two days… think an afternoon coffee and a little visual pick-me-up is in order around here.

The Shellshock Bug

Everything you need to know about the Shellshock Bash bug

Remember Heartbleed? If you believe the hype today, Shellshock is in that league and with an equally awesome name albeit bereft of a cool logo (someone in the marketing department of these vulns needs to get on that).

But in all seriousness, it does have the potential to be a biggie and as I did with Heartbleed, I wanted to put together something definitive both for me to get to grips with the situation and for others to dissect the hype from the true underlying risk.

To set the scene, let me share some content from Robert Graham’s blog post who has been doing some excellent analysis on this. [...]

Put succinctly, Robert has just orchestrated a bunch of external machines to ping him simply by issuing a carefully crafted request over the web. What’s really worrying is that he has effectively caused these machines to issue an arbitrary command (albeit a rather benign ping) and that opens up a whole world of very serious possibilities.

oh boy, this really could be pretty bad… kind of shocking really, especially since unix/bash has been around for decades.

a little fucking "() { something;} shellcode" in a HTTP header? c’mon, what the fuck.
